My starting point is usually an initial sketch idea direct from subject, sketchbook or imagination. This usually develops to a stage which seems to have reached a point of conclusion. Some pieces seem to need more development while others stand to be accepted as they are. I will often leave a painting, sometimes for years, returning to it when I think I can see a the direction it should go in. I usually work on several pieces at a time, some of which are rejected and some considered worthy enough to continue life.

I love the spontaneity and unfinished quality of initial sketches and think that sometimes they need no more elaboration, perhaps offering something honest and unpretentious.

Currently working on various canvases / watercolour paintings and drawings with a notion to exhibit somewhere in the next year or so.
